As a designer and someone who loves to be playful with what I wear, Accessories are a great love of mine and there great to have just be sure you wear the right accessories with the right outfit! Some times you can over do it and it just ruins the whole look. For example if you're wearing a dress or top and it has a a lot of detail such as embellishments around the neck line don't kill the look by teaming it with a heavy necklace which has loads of detail, The problem this will cause is you will take the attention away from the dress or top you're wearing and it will look stupidly busy. KISS-keep it simple stupid.
Quirky accessories are a favorite of mine, A guilty pleasure you could say!
The amazing thing about quirky accessories is they make even the dullest outfit come alive.
